1966 GMC – Burnt Ends
Owner: Higgins Customs
Our vision with Burnt Ends was pretty straight forward – take a good OG truck and go over the top with our own personal style. A Don Hardy LS7 engine, Bowler 6 speed transmission, Roadster Shop spec chassis, Little Shop Mfg 16” brakes, Billet Specialties wheels…you get the idea. Check out Burnt Ends in the November 2023 issue of CK Truck Magazine.
1964 Chevrolet Malibu
Owner: Kevin DeWitt
Kevin’s Malibu was built to perfection at Roadster Shop. After an accident shortly after completion, Kevin snatched it up and wanted to bring it back to the glorious state it was in not long ago. After extensive repairs and a full respray, this Malibu is turning heads once again.
1963 GMC – George
Owner: Kevin DeWitt
When looking to build our next shop truck in 2019, we acquired this killer original paint, 50,000 mile GMC with a camper shell that had been on it since day 1. We did our thing – used a GSI front and rear stub on the original chassis, swapped in an LS3 engine, and installed a Tremec 5 speed. After putting 15,000 miles on it in roughly a year, Kevin knew he needed to add this piece to his collection.
1969 Camaro
Owner: Marvin Frick
Marvin’s Camaro was our first full frame-off restoration. Built on a Heidts subframe and independent rear suspension, this extreme build required a lot of fabrication and sheet metal work. The car was first built with a fuel injected 572 and later swapped to an LS. All corners of the car were finished so that every square inch looked as good as the next.
1966 Barracuda
Owner: Joe Sander
Joe had fond memories as a kid going to the Plymouth dealership with his dad when the new models came out every year, and he vowed to own one of those cars someday. He spent countless hours collecting donor cars and locating NOS Mopar parts so that his Formula S looks as good as it did on the showroom floor in 1966.
1955 Bel Air
Owner: Marvin Frick
Marvin’s 55 Chevy was built on a Roadster Shop chassis. This over-the-top build included restoration of the stainless chrome and a custom Paul Atkins interior, just to mention a couple details. Although not original colors, the combo on this car gives it the special touch it deserves while still showing a nod to the original colors of that era.
1964 GMC
Owner: David Higgins
Dad’s dream truck. Once he found a truck with a good foundation, we did our thing. We painted it a richer turquoise and paired it with just the right brown for the interior. New wheels, a little altitude adjustment and an LS swap…and Pop had the truck of his dreams.
1959 Apache
Owner: Marvin Frick
Of course, Marvin had to add a truck to his collection, and he made a good choice with this Apache. First step was converting it from an extra-long bed to a short bed. We installed a Mustang II front suspension and a Ridetech 4-link rear suspension. Lots of fit and finish hours were put into this truck with all new sheet metal before spraying it with a slick black.
Our customers range from those wanting a complete frame off restoration to those just wanting to add some minor customizations. This is just a small sampling of some of our bigger projects. See something that piques your interest and you gotta know more? Just give us a shout.
